St John Paul II Softball captured the lead early to defeat the Victoria St. Joseph Lady Flyers 6-0 on Tuesday.
The Centurions scored in the first inning on a 2-run home run by Hannah Chapa, a home run by Victoria Adame, and an error.
Chapa then homered again in the sixth inning.
Chapa also pitched and earned the win for STJPII. She went seven innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out 12, and walking one.
St. John Paul II collected 11 hits. Chapa, Krysten Cooper, and Emily Ayala each collected multiple hits.
Chapa went 4-for-4 at the plate as she led the team with four runs batted in. St. John Paul II was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Adame made the most plays with 13.
The Lady Centurions are now 1-1 in District and will take play at IWA next Tuesday.
