STJPII's Bishop Carmody Field is Big News in the Coastal Bend

The excitement of St. John Paul II High School's new turf field and new field name is spreading around the community. The importance of the school's mission and it's philosophy of continuous improvement was covered by all outlets of the local media on Friday, including The Corpus Christi Caller-Times, KIITV-3, KRISTV-6, KZTV-10, KORO, and South Texas Catholic.

The grounds for a new turf football/soccer/track field was symbolically unearthed in the team-effort as Bishop Michael Mulvey and Bishop Edmond Carmody, working together, broke ground.

The new field was financed by a generous, but anonymous donor.

With a new field, comes a new name. The name of the field was unveiled as Bishop Carmody Field, in honor of the founder of St. John Paul II High School.

Clips from the event can be seen below in stories from KIII-TV, KRIS-TV, and the Caller-Times.
