Big Fourth Inning Propels StJPII Centurions Baseball Over St. Joseph

The St John Paul II Baseball Team invoked the 5-inning/10-run mercy rule vs Victoria’s St Jospeh Academy on Saturday Night.

Seven runs in the fourth inning led StJPII Centurions Baseball past The Flyers 13-1.

The Centurions initially got things moving in the first inning, when AJ Garcia grounded out, manufacturing one run.

StJPII Baseball then notched seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from walks by Justin De Los Santos, Jackson Pullin, and Josh Moreno and an error on a ball put in play by Jonathyn Molinar and Ryan Mota.

Mota led things off on the rubber for StJPII Centurions Baseball. He surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out six.

StJPII Centurions Baseball tallied 11 hits on the day. Moreno and Eugenio Garcia collected multiple hits. Garcia and Moreno each collected two hits to lead the night. The Centurions didn't commit a single error in the field. De Los Santos had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
