The St. John Paul II Baseball Team clinched a playoff spot on Tuesday, by taking an early lead over Victoria St. Joseph, setting the stage For Victory.
Centurion Baseball grabbed an early lead on its way to a 10-5 victory over St. Joseph on Tuesday. StJPII scored on a lead-off, first-pitch home run by Jonathyn Molinar in the first inning, a walk by John-Ryan Oliveira in the first inning, and a single by Matt Sanchez in the second inning.
The Centurions then put up four runs in the third inning. The big bats in the inning were led by a walk by Josh Moreno, a triple by Molinar, and a double by Jackson Pullin.
Mark Castaneda led things off on the hill for StJPII Centurions Baseball. He surrendered four runs on three hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three for the Win.
StJPII Baseball racked up ten hits in the game. Sanchez, Eugenio Garcia, and Molinar all had multiple hits for Centurion Baseball. Molinar, Garcia, and Sanchez each collected two hits to lead the team.
The Centurion Baseball Team will finish out district play at Laredo St Augustine on Friday.
