Centurion Baseball Back in the Playoffs

The St. John Paul II Baseball Team won their final home game of 2017 yesterday. Centurion Baseball took sole possession of the second spot in Division II District 6, clinching a playoff birth with a 4-1 win over Victoria St. Joseph.

The Centurions took an early lead in the second inning. Jonathyn Molinar drove in one when he doubled in the second inning.

St. Joseph evened things up at one in the top of the fourth inning. An error scored one run for St. Joseph.

The game was tied at 1 with STJPII batting in the bottom of the sixth when Jackson Pullin singled off of Gonzalez, driving in one run. Justin De Los Santos then drove in two more.

St. John Paul II Centurions had eight hits in the game. Molinar, De Los Santos, and Stephen Perales each collected 2 hits for St. John Paul II Centurions.

Chris Sanchez pitched a 7-inning complete game for the win, striking-out 8 batters while only giving up 4 hits and zero walks.
