Mota Collects Four Hits As St John Paul II Baseball Defeats St. Joseph Academy
Ryan Mota had the hot hand on Saturday, tallying four hits and leading StJPII Centurions Baseball to a 13-2 victory over St. Joseph Academy. Mota doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled again in the fourth when the Centurions batted around the order.
St John Paul II got on the board in the first inning when Mota doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
StJPII Centurions Baseball scored six runs in the fourth inning.
Mota, AJ Garcia, Eugenio Garcia, and Josh Ramirez all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
StJPII tallied two home runs on the day. Garcia hit one that still hasn't landed in the fifth inning. Jonathyn Molinar used his speed for an in-the-parker in the second inning.
The Centurions collected 18 hits on the day. Mota, Molinar, and Garcia all collected multiple hits for StJPII. Mota led his squad with four hits in four at bats. The Centurions were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Julian Rangel made the most plays with eight.
The Centurions will try to capitalize on their 3 game winning streak when the take on IWA for their first district game on Wednesday(3/28) at Whataburger Field at 7pm.
