Centurion Baseball Now 1-1 in District After First District Win

The St. John Paul II Centurions Baseball Team jumped out to an early lead over St. Joseph (Victoria) and took home a 13-3 victory on Saturday.

The Centurions took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for STJPII.

St. John Paul II scored four more runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Stephen Perales and a single by Chris Sanchez.

The Centurions had 12 hits in the game. Ryan Mota, Perales, and Sanchez each collected multiple hits.

Perales and Mota lead the team with 3 hits.

The Centurions tore up the base paths with 9 stolen bases on the day, Brandon Deeb robbed 2 bases and Jonathyn Molinar led the way with 3.

Chris Sanchez earned the win, pitching 4-1/3 innings.

The Centurions will host Laredo St. Augustine on Throwback Tuesday, 4/4 @ 5pm. They will be wearing the jerseys from the 2010-2011 Back to Back State Championship Teams.
