St. John Paul II Centurions Claws Back, But Falls Just Short Against San Antonio Christian

Despite a 7-run deficit in the third inning, St. John Paul II Centurions almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-6 to San Antonio Christian on Tuesday.

The St. John Paul II Centurions scored six runs in the failed comeback on a walk by Sam Works in the fourth, a single by Brandon Deeb in the fourth, a single by Stephen Perales in the fourth, a stolen base in the fourth, and a walk by John-Ryan Oliveira in the seventh.

The Centurions couldn't keep up with San Antonio Christian early in the game. San Antonio Christian scored on an error, a double by Lewis, a single by Philippus, and an error in the second inning.

STJPII scored five runs in the fourth inning. Their big inning was driven by a walk by Sam Works, a single by Brandon Deeb, a single by Stephen Perales, and a stolen base.

Jackson Pullin went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the St. John Paul II Centurions in hits.

San Antonio Christian collected nine hits. Johnson and Philippus each collected multiple hits for San Antonio Christian.
