With a win, the Centurions evened their record to 1-1 this past Friday night at Centurion Field. The end of the 4th quarter sealed a 44-6 victory over the Santa Maria High School Cougars.
Coach Bradly Chavez won his first game as Head Coach, which was only the 2nd game under his implemented program. Although a great win, Coach Chavez cautions over complacency, stating, "Although we did a lot of things right, their is still a ton of room for improvement. If we continue to work, as we get ready for district play, we will be as successful as the coaching staff and I believe we should be."
St. John Paul II High School Football has not reached the 40-point mark since 9/23/2011. The Centurions also scored 44 in a win over Falfurrias, behind the leadership of current Lamar University Quarterback Blake McKenzie.
